Hamid joined Xenon in 2010, having worked for J.P. Morgan's Energy Team in Moscow and New York for over seven years.

Recognized for his experience and knowledge, Hamid originates and executes XENON's corporate finance advisory mandates. Most recently, Hamid advised EDC, Russia’s largest provider of drilling services, on two high-profile transactions including a sale of a controlling stake in EDC to Schlumberger and a sale of a minority stake in EDC to a consortium of leading Russian and international sovereign investors. He advised INTER RAO UES on several notable transactions including a $300mm convertible loan from the EBRD and a $2.3bn acquisition of a 79.2% stake in OJSC OGK-3 from Norilsk Nickel. In 2014, he worked on the $250mm acquisition of a 50% stake in the Etinde oil and gas permit in Cameroon by a consortium of LUKOIL and New Age.

In 2015-2016 Hamid was a member of the Board of Directors of JSC "Quadra - Power Generation".

In the four years prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Hamid worked at TNK-BP in Moscow and BP Americas in Houston.

Hamid was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. He holds a Master's degree in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from North Carolina State University.

Hamid enjoys yoga and tennis.
